Background
Alcentra was formed in 2002 through the acquisitions of Imperial Credit Asset Management, a U.S. loan manager, and Barclays Capital Asset Management, a European loan manager. Our heritage is both American and European, and we have substantial involvement in both markets.
In January 2006 Alcentra became a subsidiary of The Bank of New York. In 2007 The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation was formed through a merger, creating one of the largest banks in the U.S.
Alcentra is the specialist sub-investment grade debt manager within BNY Mellon’s group of asset management boutiques.
