Nicolas Besson

Nicolas joined Alcentra in February 2020 as a member of the Private Credit team. Nicolas is responsible for managing existing investments with particular focus on portfolio workouts across geographies. Nicolas has over 17 years’ experience in credit markets. In addition, Nicolas leads the Portfolio Team function for the European Direct Lending business.

Prior to joining Alcentra, Nicolas was a Director at Pemberton Asset Management Group focussing on deal execution and portfolio management for private debt transactions on a pan-European basis (2016-2019). Nicolas also spent 5 years as a Director in the restructuring team of GE Capital’s European Leveraged Finance business (2011-2015), following previous experiences in the Leveraged Finance Portfolio Management team at Barclays and the Corporate and Investment Banking team at BNP Paribas.

Nicolas obtained a Masters in International Management from ESCP Business School and is a CFA holder. He speaks English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and has working knowledge of German.
