Michael McClelland

Prior to joining BSP-Alcentra, Michael spent six years at Magnetar Capital on the Alternative Credit and Structured Finance team. He sourced, negotiated, and executed deals within the negotiated corporate credit space. His primary focus was managing an opportunistic CLO equity and mezzanine tranche portfolio. He worked closely with bankers and CLO collateral managers to structure and execute primary market transactions from warehouses and print-sprints to refinancings and resets. Further, he developed quantitative strategies for the CLO portfolio and a CDS bespoke strategy.

Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Finance from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce in 2019. Simultaneously, he received a Bachelor of Arts specializing in Economic History.
