Chris Barris

Chris is responsible for managing U.S. and global high yield portfolios and has extensive experience managing a broad range of high yield bond and loan strategies for both institutional and retail funds. Chris is also responsible for managing Alcentra’s multi-asset credit portfolios, including US and European bonds and loans. Chris has considerable experience in credit analysis with over 29 years of investment experience.

Chris joined Alcentra in January 2013 as part of the combination of Alcentra with Standish Mellon Asset Management’s high yield business. He joined Standish in 2005, serving as a Senior Credit Analyst and Senior Portfolio Manager for US and global high yield investments. He joined Standish from State Street Research & Management where he was as a high yield research analyst. Prior to that, he worked for Credit Suisse First Boston (Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette) in the leveraged finance group.

Chris has an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, a B.A. from Hamilton College.
