Background

Alcentra was formed in March 2002 through the acquisition of Imperial Credit Asset Management from Imperial Credit Industries, Inc. in the United States and in March 2003, through the acquisition of Barclays Capital Asset Management Limited from Barclays Bank Plc in Europe.

In January 2006, Alcentra became a subsidiary of The Bank of New York Mellon Corp.

Located in London and New York, Alcentra's asset management and investment activities are focused on the sub-investment grade debt capital markets.
